How to Plan and Release
At the Release Plan And Training stage the banner reads "Set effective date and next review date to release."
In the Release section, set the Effective Date (the date from which the version applies) and the Next Review Date (when the document must next go through the release process). The next review date is calculated automatically from the master document's Criticality Index and can also be entered manually.
Decide how to release:
Select Save & Close to release automatically on the effective date; the system releases the version when that date is reached.
Select Release Document Immediately to release now.
If you release immediately, the Release Document As Effective dialog asks you to confirm. If no training was created for the version, it warns you and asks whether to release anyway; select Release Document to proceed. Releasing now sets the effective date to today, with you recorded as the releasing user.
Once released, the process reaches Released and the banner shows "Released on [date] by [user]."
Release status: Not Started, Pending, and Released.
Training is created after approval. It draws on the Target Audience from access management together with the training plans defined in training management, and is covered in Training Assignment.
Training status: Not Required (for a template), Not Started, Pending (while still in review or approval), No training version (nothing assigned yet), In progress (before the version is effective), or x/y completed (once effective).
