Working Statuses
Every document version carries two distinct kinds of status:
Document status: Controlled by the system and set automatically by the approval process (for example, advancing to Approved or Effective). It cannot be changed manually.
Working status: User-controlled. It is not governed by the system, so you can set and change it at any time to indicate a document's working state.
You can also create your own working statuses. Once created, a working status can be set on a version (where it appears as a column) and is also shown for master documents.
How to Create a Working Status
In the left navigation, under Settings, select Working Statuses.
Select New.
Enter a name.
Select Save.
How to Set a Working Status on a Document Version
Open the document version.
Set the Working Status field as required.
Select Save. The status then appears in the working-status column for the version and the master document.
