Introduction to Settings
Settings holds the smaller configuration options that tailor eQMS to the way your organisation works; the working statuses you can apply to documents, and the internal metadata fields shown on your records.
These options do not change what the system does, but they let you describe your documents in your own terms: the working states your team uses day to day, and the additional information you want to capture alongside the standard fields.
What You Use It For
Settings lets you adapt the system's vocabulary and metadata without affecting its controlled behaviour. With it you can:
Create the working statuses used to indicate a document's working state, each with its own colour.
Define the internal fields captured on master documents and document versions.
Together, these let the system reflect your organisation's terminology and the details you need to record.
How It Is Organised
Settings has two parts:
Working Statuses: The user-controlled statuses (each with a name and a colour) that can be set on documents to show their working state, separately from the system-controlled document status.
Internal Fields: The configurable metadata fields, of type dropdown, yes/no, or text, shown in the Internal Fields sections of master documents and versions.
The pages that follow describe each part in detail. If you are configuring the system, begin with Working Statuses to set up the states your team uses, then Internal Fields to define the metadata you capture.
